FTI cuts 2026 vehicle production target to 1.45 million units amid global economic pressures
On Friday, July 25, 2026, Mr. Suwat Supakarndechakul, FTI vice chairman and chairman of the Automotive Industry Club, together with Mr. Surapong Phaisitpattanapong, spokesman and advisor to chairman of FTI's Automotive Industry Club, announced the production, sales, and export figures for vehicles and motorcycles for June 2026.
They revealed that the Automotive Industry Club has revised Thailand's 2026 vehicle production forecast downward from 1.50 million units to 1.45 million units, a reduction of 3.33%. The revision follows the impact on the export sector from global economic uncertainty, conflict in the Middle East, trade protectionist measures, and intensifying competition in the electric vehicle market. The domestic production target remains unchanged at 550,000 units.
